AC Maintenance and Repair

When your AC stops or struggles in the Riyadh summer, you need an accurate diagnosis, not parts swapped by trial and error. Our technicians inspect the unit, find the real cause of the fault and fix it, across all types: split, window, cassette, concealed ducted, package and VRF, in homes, shops and commercial facilities.

Common faults we fix

Every symptom has more than one possible cause, so we always inspect and measure before deciding on a repair. The faults we deal with most often include:

  • The unit runs but does not cool, or cools weakly
  • Water leaking from the indoor unit or pooling above the ceiling
  • Unusual noise or vibration from the indoor or outdoor unit
  • The breaker trips, or the AC stops shortly after starting
  • Unpleasant smells when the AC is switched on
  • A frozen coil or ice forming on the pipes
  • The unit not responding to the remote or thermostat

How we diagnose and repair

The technician first asks about the symptoms and when they started, then checks the filters, coils and drain line, measures refrigerant pressures and electrical current, and tests components such as the capacitor, contactor, fan motors, sensors and thermostat. Once the cause is clear, we explain the fault and the proposed repair before any work goes ahead.

If weak cooling comes from low refrigerant, we do not simply top it up. We find and fix the leak first, because recharging without repairing the leak is a temporary fix that brings the problem back and wears out the compressor. After the repair we test the AC, measuring supply air temperature and operating pressures to confirm performance is back to normal before we leave the site.

Cleaning and preventive care

In a dusty city like Riyadh, filters and coils clog faster than usual, which cuts airflow, raises power bills and leads to more frequent faults. Cleaning the filters is a simple job you can do yourself, and during heavy use it is often recommended every two weeks to a month, depending on dust levels and the manufacturer's guidance. Cleaning coils and drain lines and checking components is a job for a technician.

  • Cleaning the filters and the indoor evaporator coil
  • Washing the outdoor condenser coil
  • Clearing the drain line and cleaning the drain pan
  • Checking electrical connections and tightening terminals
  • Confirming refrigerant pressures and cooling performance after cleaning

How to request service

You can book maintenance or report an urgent fault by phone or WhatsApp. Tell us the AC type, the symptom and your location, and send a photo of the unit if you can. We agree a visit time with you, and the technician arrives with the testing and measuring tools the job needs.

Common questions

All questions
Why is my AC running but not cooling?

Common causes include dirty filters or a dirty outdoor coil, low refrigerant due to a leak, a failed compressor capacitor or outdoor fan, or a faulty thermostat. Pinning down the cause takes inspection and measurement, and we always rule out the simpler causes before moving on to bigger faults.

Does my AC need a refrigerant top-up every year?

No. The refrigerant circuit is sealed, and a healthy AC does not use up refrigerant, however long it runs. If it needs recharging, in most cases there is a leak that has to be found and fixed first; otherwise the shortage will come back and the compressor will suffer over time.

What causes a bad smell when the AC is switched on?

Usually dust and moisture built up on the filters and coil, standing water in the drain pan, or a drain line without a proper trap. Cleaning the unit and clearing the drain solves most cases. If it smells like burning, however, switch the AC off straight away and have it inspected.

Do you service all AC types and brands?

Yes. We maintain and repair all regular and central AC types, from split and window units to cassette, concealed ducted, package and VRF systems, across the various brands available in the Saudi market. When spare parts are needed, we explain the available options before ordering.
