Project overview
Many modern restaurants in Riyadh have open, dark-painted ceilings, which makes the ductwork a visible part of the interior design. The job is not only about cooling: duct routes and finishes have to work with the pendant lighting, green walls, timber and brick.
Exposed ductwork demands more precision than concealed ductwork, because any uneven bend, untidy joint or crooked hanger stays in full view of diners at all times.
The gallery shows work from restaurant projects Rukn Al Khaleej has completed in Riyadh, including the interior and frontage of Meat Mood Restaurant. Other restaurant clients of the company include Al Shahiya Al Oula Restaurant and Mazbiko Restaurant.
Scope of work
- Fabricating and supplying round exposed ducts in finishes that suit the decor, including gold.
- Hanging the exposed duct network under the dark ceiling on straight, even runs.
- Installing circular diffusers spread over the seating areas.
- Coordinating duct routes with pendant lighting and decor elements.
- Supplying and installing AC units and connecting them to the ductwork.
- Starting up the system and checking air distribution across the dining room.
